Position Summary

We are seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) NAV Principal to serve as the owner of our total Company Net Asset Value (NAV) model and related reporting processes. This pivotal role is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of the NAV model, leading quarterly refreshes, conducting scenario analyses, and translating business assumptions into clear valuation impacts for senior leadership and stakeholders.

The FP&A NAV Principal will collaborate with Treasury, Accounting, Regulatory, Business Development, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the NAV model reflects the latest financial plans, capital structure, regulatory outlook, commodity assumptions, and growth strategies. The ideal candidate will bring strong valuation and modeling expertise and the ability to synthesize complex analyses into concise, executive-ready insights and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, and enhance the total Company NAV model, including model architecture, assumptions, version control, scenario management, and outputs used for leadership and sponsor reporting.
  • Lead the quarterly NAV refresh process, coordinating inputs across the organization to ensure assumptions align with the latest forecasts and market conditions.
  • Prepare quarterly strategic reporting packages, including NAV bridge analysis, key valuation drivers, and commentary on risks and opportunities for senior leadership and investors.
  • Develop ad hoc NAV and valuation analyses to support strategic decisions, such as growth opportunities, acquisitions, joint ventures, and organic projects.
  • Analyze the financial impact of capital structure changes, financing alternatives, leverage, distributions, and other balance sheet actions.
  • Evaluate changes in the regulatory landscape and model their potential impact on NAV, cash flow, returns, and risk outcomes.
  • Model commodity and macroeconomic sensitivities relevant to the energy business, including price changes, volumes, margins, inflation, and interest rates.
  • Build and maintain executive-ready dashboards and presentations that clearly communicate valuation movements, assumptions, sensitivities, and strategic implications.
  • Partner with Business Development and Operations to assess growth opportunities using DCF, ROI, NPV, IRR, and scenario analyses, providing recommendations on financial attractiveness and risks.
  • Monitor industry trends, peer benchmarks, economic developments, and regulatory changes to strengthen the accuracy and relevance of NAV modeling and strategic analysis.
  • Support risk identification and mitigation by assessing downside cases, sensitivity ranges, and key model dependencies across the company’s portfolio and growth pipeline.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise, including DCF, NAV, ROI, NPV, IRR, scenario analysis, and sensitivity modeling.
  • Experience owning complex corporate or asset-level valuation models, ideally in utilities, energy infrastructure, renewables, investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance.
  • Strong understanding of utility regulation, capital structure, financing strategy, and the financial drivers of energy infrastructure businesses.
  • Ability to translate complex valuation analyses into clear, executive-ready presentations and recommendations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required; experience with long-range planning, BI tools, or data visualization platforms preferred.
  • Advanced degree or certification such as CFA, MBA, CPA, or other relevant credential is highly advantageous.

Required Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with at least 12 years of relevant experience; or
  • Master’s degree in a relevant concentration with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in the energy sector, investment banking, or a strategic finance role preferred.

Benefits

We offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth, including:
