We are seeking an experienced **Project Manager** to support the delivery of large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects in Malaysia.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing projects from planning and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. This is a **client-facing project management role**, requiring strong stakeholder management, commercial awareness and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
### Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of data centre projects from concept and design through construction, commissioning and handover.
* Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and delivery support.
* Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary consultants, contractors, vendors and client stakeholders.
* Develop and monitor project programmes, ensuring projects remain on schedule and identifying potential delays and recovery measures.
* Monitor project budgets, costs, cash flow and financial performance against approved targets.
* Lead procurement activities, including tendering, contractor selection and management of long-lead equipment.
* Manage contract administration, variations, claims, extensions of time and other commercial matters.
* Coordinate design development, technical reviews, approvals and construction activities.
* Monitor contractor performance, site progress, quality and compliance with project requirements.
* Identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
* Chair project meetings and ensure clear communication of actions, decisions and project requirements.
* Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory, health and safety requirements.
* Oversee commissioning, testing, completion, defects management and final handover to the client.
* Prepare project reports covering programme, cost, risk, quality and overall project performance.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.
### Requirements
* Degree in **Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Project Management** or a related discipline.
* **6–10+ years of project management experience** within the construction or built environment sector.
* Proven experience delivering **data centre, mission-critical, high-tech or other complex MEP-intensive projects**.
* Strong understanding of the complete project lifecycle, from design and procurement through construction and handover.
* Experience managing multidisciplinary consultants, contractors and specialist vendors.
* Strong knowledge of project planning, cost control, procurement and contract administration.
* Strong stakeholder and client management capabilities, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders.
* Good understanding of MEP systems and the technical requirements of large-scale data centres.
* Experience working in a **client-side, consultancy or project management environment** is highly advantageous.
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage project risks, variations and contractual issues.
* Proficiency with project management and reporting tools such as **MS Project, Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject**.
### Desirable
* Experience with **hyperscale or large-scale data centre developments**.
* Experience working on fast-track or greenfield data centre projects.
* Exposure to international clients, consultants and contractors.
* Knowledge of international forms of contract such as **FIDIC, NEC or JCT**.
* PMP, PRINCE2, RICS, MCIOB or equivalent professional qualification.
* Experience with commissioning, integrated systems testing and data centre handover.
### Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a commercially aware and technically capable Project Manager who can operate confidently between the **client, consultant, contractor and wider project team**.
Candidates from a **project management consultancy, developer, main contractor or specialist construction environment** with strong data centre or mission-critical experience will be considered.
