JOB DESCRIPTION


As a Technical Solutions Senior Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing technical solutions in Data Centre Engineering projects from inception to completion, developing pre-sales solutions by coordinating closely with the Commercial team and/or wider organizational teams, and working with various investment stakeholders to assess feasibility of Pre-deals. You will work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the job responsibilities are completed with viable technical and budget proposals within time limits. You will coordinate with the Project Management team and provide Project Management inputs and considerations across your job responsibilities. You may be expected to travel for work to support your projects and customers when required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with the design and construction of Data Centres, and work with knowledge of all technical disciplines, typical customer requirements and standard Basis of Design
  • Execute the technical qualification, planning and development of technical solution for prospective deals as the Technical Solutions Head of Department shall direct. Manage and generate technical solution, project cost and planning structure for prospective deal engagements and investment approval
  • Provide project scheduling and construction process assessment for all technical solutions, pre-projects, pre-deals and pre-sales solution, and perform necessary organization and handover documentations to the Project team for delivery, and provide necessary support and follow up where required
  • Coordinate and obtain inputs from Technical Solutions, Project Management, Operations, Consultants, Contractors and vendors etc. to develop viable Technical Solutions, Pre-Sales Solutions or Pre-Deal responses to various relevant stakeholders
  • Work with Asset Owners, Sales and Commercial, Asset Management, and Investments Teams to determine the Project budget proposal with adjustments to the Overall Project Budget and Investments Returns, while ensuring coordination with the Project Construction Costs and Design
  • Obtain proposals, select, and appoint consultants to develop design and cost estimate. Thereafter, manage selected consultant team for awarded scope of works
  • Engagement with Statutory Authorities and Safety Matters
  • Support project team to execute projects' quotation and/or tendering process for the various packages such as project consultancy, contractors, nominated sub-contractors, vendors, suppliers, etc in accordance with the inputs provided during the various technical solutions, pre-sales and pre-deal phases of work
  • Organize and conduct regular separate and/or combined meetings with Clients, Asset Owners, appointed consultant, contractors, vendors, etc to address all technical related matters during pre-project and during engineering project execution
  • Technical Solutions management and track progress of solutions development and project cost against the approved schedule during pre-project investment approval and design phases
  • Technical solutions report including solution development and its corresponding risks and mitigation, compliance to the Customer and/or industry standards, project cost estimation and its corresponding validation and risks, etc. for investment approval
  • Technical solutions and Pre-Sales support to project team during project execution
  • Work closely with Client, Asset Owner and Operation team on any technical issues arising from pre-project stage, project execution stage and support the project team for timely handover to Client, Asset Owner and Operation team respectively
  • Any other scopes as directed by the Technical Solutions Head of Department

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Data Centre or equivalent design and construction work
  • Good knowledge of variable design standards, including BICSI, TIA, Uptime Institute Tier Standard, etc.
  • Ability to manage teams and perform pre-sale engagement and technical solution effectively with multi-function teams
  • Good problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills with high resilience and drive in achieving objectives and goals. High desire for innovation and learning
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
  • Relevant experience in a multi-cultural work environment fostering a climate of teamwork and collaboration
