Principal Hydrogeologist – Water Resources

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Hydrogeologist to help lead and grow a water resources and groundwater practice in Houston and across Texas.


This is a senior technical and leadership opportunity for an established hydrogeologist who wants to combine complex groundwater project work with client development, technical leadership, team growth, and practice expansion.


The successful candidate will provide senior technical oversight across groundwater and water supply projects while helping develop client relationships and expand the firm's presence throughout Texas and the Gulf Coast.


What You’ll Work On:


• Groundwater resource evaluation and management


• Hydrogeologic conceptual models and water balances


• Numerical groundwater modeling


• Groundwater basin and aquifer characterization


• Water supply planning and development


• Water supply assessments and management plans


• Production well siting, design, construction, and testing


• Managed aquifer recharge and groundwater recharge strategies


• Groundwater sustainability and long-term supply planning


• Industrial and municipal groundwater supply


• Expert analysis, litigation support, and technical due diligence


• Integrated water supply and reuse strategies


What You’ll Do:


• Provide senior technical leadership across complex groundwater and water resources projects


• Lead hydrogeologic investigations, groundwater modeling, water supply studies, and well development programs


• Manage and develop relationships with key clients across Texas and the Gulf Coast


• Identify and pursue opportunities to grow groundwater and water resources services


• Develop new business while expanding services with existing clients


• Lead and mentor hydrogeologists, groundwater modelers, and other water resources professionals


• Provide technical QA/QC and project risk oversight


• Support strategic planning and continued development of the regional practice


• Help identify hiring and training needs as the team grows


• Represent the organization through client meetings, conferences, industry associations, and technical organizations


• Collaborate with water resources professionals across offices and disciplines


What We’re Looking For:


• 15+ years of professional hydrogeology experience, ideally focused on water resources and water supply


• Strong technical expertise in groundwater hydrology and hydrogeology


• Experience with groundwater modeling, aquifer characterization, and water supply development


• Experience with production well design, construction, and testing is highly desirable


• Strong project and client management capabilities


• Proven ability to develop long-term client relationships and expand consulting services


• Experience leading and mentoring technical professionals


• Established experience within the Texas and/or Gulf Coast water resources market strongly preferred


• Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline


• Master's degree preferred


• PE, PG, or equivalent professional registration preferred


Ideal Background:


We’re particularly interested in senior hydrogeologists who have worked with municipal utilities, industrial clients, water authorities, energy companies, data centers, or other major groundwater users and who understand the technical and commercial challenges surrounding long-term water supply in Texas.
