We are seeking an experienced **T&C Assistant Commissioning Manager** to support the planning, coordination, and execution of testing and commissioning activities for large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Commissioning Manager, project management team, consultants, contractors, vendors, and client representatives to ensure all systems are tested, commissioned, integrated, and handed over in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and approved commissioning procedures.
### Key Responsibilities
* Support the Commissioning Manager in managing the overall **Testing & Commissioning (T&C)** programme for data centre projects.
* Coordinate commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical, controls, fire/life safety, and other critical MEP systems.
* Develop and maintain commissioning schedules, trackers, test plans, and commissioning documentation.
* Coordinate and monitor commissioning activities from **pre-functional testing through functional performance testing and Integrated Systems Testing (IST)**.
* Review commissioning plans, method statements, risk assessments, test procedures, and test scripts.
* Coordinate **FAT, SAT, pre-functional testing, functional testing, performance testing, and IST** with contractors and equipment vendors.
* Support commissioning of critical data centre systems, including:
* MV/LV electrical distribution
* Transformers and switchgear
* UPS and battery systems
* Generators and synchronisation systems
* ATS/STS and PDU systems
* Chillers and cooling systems
* CRAH/CRAC systems
* Pumps and associated mechanical systems
* BMS, EPMS and DCIM
* Fire alarm and life safety systems
* Ensure commissioning activities are coordinated between individual systems and the wider integrated facility.
* Participate in and support **Level 1–5 commissioning activities**, where applicable.
* Coordinate integrated testing of normal, abnormal, emergency, and failure scenarios.
* Work closely with contractors, specialist subcontractors, OEMs, consultants, and client representatives to resolve commissioning issues.
* Track commissioning progress, outstanding issues, defects, punch lists, and corrective actions.
* Review test results and commissioning records to ensure compliance with project requirements.
* Identify technical issues and coordinate troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
* Escalate critical commissioning risks, delays, and technical issues to the Commissioning Manager and project leadership.
* Support the preparation of commissioning reports, daily/weekly progress reports, test records, and handover documentation.
* Ensure commissioning activities are carried out in accordance with approved **method statements, risk assessments, PTW and LOTO procedures**.
* Coordinate with the construction team to ensure systems are ready for commissioning before testing begins.
* Support client witnessing activities and maintain effective communication with client representatives.
* Assist with operational readiness, training, demonstrations, and final system handover.
* Provide technical guidance and support to commissioning engineers and technicians.
* Assist the Commissioning Manager with planning resources, manpower, equipment, and specialist vendor requirements.
### Required Experience
* Degree or diploma in **Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline**.
* Typically **8+ years of relevant engineering experience**, with significant experience in testing and commissioning.
* Proven experience working on **data centres, mission-critical facilities, semiconductor facilities, hospitals, or other critical infrastructure projects**.
* Strong experience in MEP testing and commissioning.
* Experience coordinating commissioning activities across multiple disciplines and contractors.
* Strong understanding of **FAT, SAT, functional testing, performance testing and IST**.
* Experience commissioning critical electrical and/or mechanical systems.
* Good understanding of commissioning documentation, procedures, test scripts, and reporting.
* Experience working with consultants, main contractors, specialist subcontractors, OEMs, and client teams.
* Strong understanding of **PTW, LOTO, RAMS, risk assessments and safe systems of work**.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, and equipment documentation.
### Desirable Experience
* Previous experience on **hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects**.
* Experience with **Tier III/IV data centre environments**.
* Experience leading or supporting **Integrated Systems Testing (IST)**.
* Familiarity with **Uptime Institute commissioning requirements**.
* CxA or other recognised commissioning certification.
* Professional Engineering qualification or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of **IEC, IEEE, NFPA, ASHRAE** and other relevant standards.
* Experience with BMS, EPMS and DCIM systems.
* Experience managing commissioning activities across multiple buildings or phases of a large-scale project.

Flexibility may be required to support critical testing activities, system shutdowns, integrated systems testing, emergency scenario testing, and project handover milestones.
