Commissioning Project Manager
Location flexible with travel.
Salary $210K plus benefits and bonus
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented MEP Commissioning / QAQC PM to join our mission-critical data center delivery team. In this role, you will oversee the commissioning and quality assurance/quality control (QAQC) of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to ensure seamless handover from construction to operations.
This position is critical to ensuring that complex data center environments meet or exceed performance, reliability, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee commissioning activities for MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, backup power (UPS/generators), fire protection, and BMS controls
Implement and manage QA/QC protocols to ensure installation and testing align with design specifications, industry standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.), and client requirements
Coordinate with General Contractors, subcontractors, OEMs, and 3rd-party commissioning agents to verify system readiness and documentation
Review and validate commissioning scripts, functional tests, and integrated systems testing (IST)
Track and close out punch lists, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and QA/QC deficiencies
Maintain documentation including redlines, test results, commissioning reports, submittals, and O&M manuals
Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project milestones, safety, and quality standards
Interface with design, construction, and operations teams to support project delivery and handover
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent field experience)
5+ years of MEP commissioning or QAQC experience, ideally within hyperscale or colocation data center environments
Strong knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning processes, and standards (LEED, ASHRAE, NEBB, SMACNA)
Familiarity with Integrated Systems Testing (IST), electrical load bank testing, and HVAC TAB (testing, adjusting, and balancing)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and CMMS or commissioning software platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong technical report writing ability
OSHA 30 or similar safety certification is preferred
Ability to travel to active construction sites as needed
Preferred Experience
Experience working with Tier III or IV data centers
Previous roles in owner’s rep, MEP contractor, or commissioning authority environment
Certifications such as CxA (AABC or BCA), PMP, LEED AP, NEBB, or ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional
